Find Buffalo… Minnesota, that is

I had a networking lunch the other day with a local multimedia director and chatted about different areas of search, from SEO, PPC, conferences, etc… It winds up that he does some local search in his own right.

Enter findbuffalo.com, a local community Web site about Buffalo, Minnesota. It’s brand new and promises to grow with a nice selection of Buffalo events, news and information, a business directory, and it even allows users to post local press releases (if you have a release on how J.P. Losman is resurrecting the city economy, you’ve got the wrong Buffalo… and you’ve tipped back a couple). 

I’m interested to see how this works because I’m pretty unfamiliar with what makes city/community Web portals tick. Buffalo (MN) is a smaller town that is growing quick from urban sprawl and its close proximity to the Twin Cities. The site owners are Web vets, and have the opportunity to grow the site into a popular community.
